DUNEDIN NEWS.

(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, last night. The Dunedin Competitions Society, having received a 25 guinea challenge shield from each of the two music firms in the city for church choir and vocal contests, have extended the time for making entries for all competitions to the 18th inst., and it is understood that several outside of Otago desire to compete. A raid was made by the police on a rough boarding-house, near Cnatto Creek, on the Otago Central works, and a keg of beer and a quantity of whisky were seized. A man named Kennedy, who ran the place, will be charged with sly grogBelling.
