A WELLINGTON MYSTERY,
SPRINGING A. SURPRISE ON THE PREMIER. Per Press Association. Wellington, last night In the Houso of Representatives this afternoon Mr McLachlan asked the Premier if he was aware of a Bill entitled • The Consolidating Licensing Bill,” being ‘ in circulation in Wellington, and had tho Prcmior givon his consent to such circulation ?
Mr Soddon said ho was astounded at ho information just givon to tho Houso. Mr Tannor: I believo it is quite correct. I have had similar information. Mr Seddon wont on to say that a Consolidating Licensing Bill had been in course of preparation. The Bill, however, was not completed, and it hud no right to J bo outside of tho law draughtsmen or Government. Ho would make enquiries into tho mattor, as he considered a grave broach of discipline had been committed. Mr Massey ? Is the Bill printed ? Mr Seddon : Yes ; tho Bill is printed. I may say at once that it will not bo gone on with this session.
