MONOPOLIES BILL AND ’FBISCO SEBVIOE. By Telegraph—Press Association— Auckland, last night. At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce Council the following report of the committee appointed to consider the Monopolies Prevention Bill was adopted : “ That the Trade Monopolies Prevention Bill is unworkable and unnecessary.” The following resolution was carried re the ’Frisco mail: “ That the Council of the Chamber notes with some alarm that there appears to bo a compact party in the Houso who will use every effort to secure tho discontinuance of the ’Frisco mail service. This Chamber urges on the Auckland members the supreme importance to Auckland and to the colony generally of the service, as being the quickest and most punctual available, and which as a passenger service is unequalled in its advantages to the colony.”
