(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. The body of a .woman, ag*:l between 45 and 50 years, .was found in the. river Avon this morning. There was nothing on the person to identify her. She had two rings on the linger and a purse in the pocket, but it only contained two tickets. Enquiries aro being mado regarding her identity. , Later.
The body of the woman found in the Avon this morning has been identified as that of Mrs 1-lannal, alias Stewart. She had been addicted to drink, but latterly had 'been in a situation in town. This she left on Saturday, and on Morn day was before the Court on a eharge of drunkenness. As she had not been before the Court for a considerable time, she was let off with a caution.
