The addresses of the Agents-General to Mr Lyttelton emphasised the necessity of a closer bond of union between the colonies and the Motherland, enabling them to derive the greatest benefit and advantages of a world-wide empire. He was determined to assist in conserving their interests and maintaining their in, tegrity.
