Brigands first demanded a ransom of £40,000, and then £20,000 for the release of Oaptain Croweber and Lioutenant Hutton. They finally accepted ten rifles and ten thousand cartridges. Mr Lowther, British Minister, has demanded punish* meat of thß kidnappers.
