[(Per Press Association-) Christchurch, last night.
Mrs Baird, wifa of Mr John Baird, an old resident of Sefton, was found dead in bed this morning. Deceased was over 70 years of age, and death is supposed to be due to heart disease.
The police have reoeived information that an old man named Riddle was found dead in bed this morning at Boat Harbor, Oheviot.
The annual meeting of' the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held to-night. The report stated that the net profits from the Shrubb-Duffey tour were £l9 16s Id. Reference was also made to tho backward state of amateur athletics in the North Island. It was decided that Dunedio should bo offered the New Zealand Championship meeting for the oomiog year. A motion for the Removal of the headquarters to Dunedin Ijjas lost by 7 to 6.
