"TAKING" BUTTER.
(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. John Holmes, late Trade Gommis donor to the colony, who arrived in Christchurch to-day, stated that if the practice of ‘•faking’’New Zealand butter at Home was not stopped the permanent market would be jeopardised. At present cocoanut oil, also margarine, tallow, and other commodities were being mixed with New Zealand butter, which was then repacked aud sold under the original brands. As muoh as 26 per cent increased weight had been thereby secured,
