(Per Press Association.) Invercargill, last night Much of the business of the Educational Institute to-day wa3 oa oommi'.tse reports. It was decided not to establish an official journal as the property of tbe Institute, and that fbe annual levy be sr, to include a copy of the official journal. The following resolutions were passed: That the Department obtain from the Education Boards plans of schools, residences, aud furniture required for modern methods ; that the Institute, while acknowledging the importance and necessity of Bible instruction for children, strenuously protests against the proposal that primary teachers should be ask.ed to give such instruction during-school hours; that the Institute heartily ca-operate with the Dental Association of New Zealand in their efforts to secure proper dental treatment for school children ; that c'ause 142 of the Education Act be more clearly defined. There was considerable discussion on several motions re Bible reading. The conference closed at 11.15 p.m. The de'egales have a pionio at Riverton to-morrow.
