ROWING. Six crews are in active training for the Gisborne Rowing Club’s Cederwall fours, and some really good finishes should result in the racing. Tho opening heats will be rowed over the Waimata course on Wednesday evening next, when Kershaw meets Bayly, and Puflett rows Buscke. The first race will start at 5.30. On Thursday evening Johnston meets Hamilton.
The following are the competing crews Kershaw (stroke), Bright (3), Quigley (2), Parnell (bow); P. Bayly (stroke), McGonigal (3), Luttrell (2), Jeffreys (how) ; Puflett (str), 13. Johnston(3), Wilson (2), Dines (how); Buscke (str), Cumming (3), Cowan (2), Rowe (bow) ; W. Johnston (str), Dods (3), Bennett (2), Faram (bow) ; C. Hamilton (str), P. Hamilton (3), Sargisson (2), J. Smith (bow). The Selection Committee have chosen tho following crews to represent tlie Gisborne shed in the maiden and junior events at the JTawke’s Bay regatta, to be held in Alar eh, and also t'o row senior against Poverty Bay in. tho annual fixtures: P. C. Bayly (str), H. Kershaw (3), C. J. Hamilton (2), F. Cumming (bow). The crew goes into training after the completion of the Cederwall fours.
