Sir Edward Grey entertained Prince Eushima at a banquet. Besides the other members of the Government, there were present Lords Lansdowns and lloberts, and Admiral Sir John Fisher.
Sir Edward emphasised the community of spirit and intentions of the Anglo-Jiipanese Alliance. Should ail the others having their interests in the Far East adopt eacli their own way in the same policy, then indeed would stability be secured ; and being conscious ( of community of interests, the general goodwill among all would ma'ke a peace pleasant and acceptable to everyone.
Prince Fushima, ill responding, dwelt upon the special friendship ol the two nations, and remarked that the maintenance of the cordial relations was happily in the keeping ol able and tried hands.
