Tlio officer had failed to detect any criminal movement, yet remembering tlie picture, ho decided to make a move on chance. The moment the man was, arrested he made a desperate effort to wrench himself free; but, with the aid of a constable, lie was secured and led back to the lady. j>ure enough she had lost her purse, which, after a careful search of the prisoner, was brought forth from a secret pocket.
