AUCKLAND, yesterday
Three days out from Liverpool to Capetown and Auckland, thes.s. Fifesliire fell in with the steam yacht Galinelle, of Marseilles. The yacht was covered for towing, hut had evidently broken adrift from the vessel towing her. The Fifesliire took tho yacht in tow, intending to put into Dakar, but' after some hours the yacht was found to be in a sinking condition, and had to be abandoned.

AUCKLAND, yesterday. The winter show closed on Saturday, when, in spite of the showery weather, there were very' satisfactory attendances. The total gate receipts for the four days amounted to £591, which is expected to be brought up to about £6OO by outside returns. The total expenditure has not yet been ascertained, but the financial position is regarded by the Association as satisfactory, especially as the weather has been very unfavorable.
