STATIONING OF MINISTERS. United Press Association— Copyright SYDNEY, June 11. At the Methodist Conference the Rev. Garland moved that the New Zealand Conference be given permissive legislation to deal with the stationing of ministers either in representation or ministerial session of the annual conference. Ho said there was a strong desire in New Zealand bo possess that* power.,The Rev. Mr. Lawry moved an amendment making it mandatory that 'the question should be transferred to representative session. This, together with a number of other amendments, was negatived. The original motion was carried by 53 to 20. On Mr. Garland’s motioit it was deeided to tender congratulations to the three branches of Methodism in Japan having accomplished union.

The Methodist Conference decided to apoint sectional committees m connection with each annual conference to confer with representatives of the Presbyterian and Congregational Churches, with a view to formulating a basis of union. During the discussion it was pointed out that New Zealand and Victoria were apathetic in the matter.
