Mr. Jamison presided, and there weropresent Messrs. E. Somervell, Hum-_. phreys, Sissons. R. Somervell, J. R. Litt-10, and Lawless. An apology woe received from the Mayor, who is suffering from a cold. Messrs. Sissons, R. and E. Somervell were added to the committee.

In regard to the sale of tickets, Mr. Little advised that it was of little use to distribute them to many people. After the Baths Social a good many people returned the tickets intact, without having opened the envelope. The matter was left to the discretion of the secretaries, who will send tickets for sale only to those who express willingness to assist, or who are known to he in sympathy. It was decided to issue a circular inset in both papers (the cost to he made up by advertisements on the circular), inviting assistance generally, and setting out that the committee will be pleased to receive contributions of provisions towards the supper. Intending contributors are asked to kindly leave donations at the residence of his AYorship the Alavor. For tickets the prices will be the same as were charged for the baths social, namely: First night, gentlemen ss, ladies 2s 6d ; children’s night, children Is, adults (with privilege of taking two children) 3s. I P was reported that a meeting of ladies willing to assist in the arrangements would be held on Tuesday (this) atteruoou.

Mr. C. J. Bullen,' secretary of a private band formed in Gisborne, under tlie conductorsliip of Air. AlcKil°P. i wrote proffering the services ot the band, not less than 12 performers, for one or both nights of the social. i ' Humphreys explained that t.io band had been formed about eight months ago, as a private concern. The members would always bo pleased to give their services gratuitously for charitable purposes. Ho took »t that if tlie social proved a big success, tlie bandsmen would not bo averse to receiving an honorarium in recognition of their services. Air. Little thought the offer should oe accepted. It was no light undertaking to play for two nights, and he thought the band would not lose by the offer. It was stated that the City Band did not appear very “keen” about playing for the social, dance music not being a strong point of its repertoire. After discussion the offer made by the private band was unanimously accepted, with thanks. It was reported that Aligs Little had again undertaken to play the “extras.”—Members spoke appreciatively of her services, and accepted with thanks.

Air. Little was deputed to arrange for the loan of tarmiulins, flags, etc., in connection with the decorations, and the Alavor will he asked to obtain the use of a motor car for motive power in polishing the huge floor o: the woolshed. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the proceedings. The committee will meet on Alonday evening next.
