The fact that there has been so fftr;no: indication of the appearance of the Public Works Statement was remarked oil this aftbniobn by “Mr. Massey. Sir Joseph Ward, in reply, said ■that at the present fate of progress the Public Works Statement would bo brought down in about ton weeks’ time. It would, he added, be brought down after they had disposed of the Taxation Hill, the Land Bill, the Endowment Bill, the Meikilo Bill, tilic Anti-Gambling Bill, the Civil Servico Superannuation and Classification Bills, Tho Arbitration Bill and other measures. Mr. Massey: What about the Local Government Bill? Sir Joseph Ward: I have left that Bill :out ill. tho meantimo. f (Mr; Herries in speaking a little later said that the session had only about another mouth to go as he would guarantee that 'members would not stay beyond the New Zealand Cup week.
