KEIR HARDIE IN NEW ZEALAND.
[To the Editor.]
Sir,—l should imagine that the views of the Parnell Borough Council reported in this morning’s issue are more in touch with the intelligent jniblic in New Zealand, than tho opinion of your correspondent, P. J. H., who wants to make a hero of this- disturber of tho peace and traitor to tho British nation. It is men of tho Keir Hardio stamp ;that want keeping out-, and if the Alayor of Wellington, or of any other city of tho Dominion, takes any notice of, or entertains him, I for one will be sorry to see it. Wo have got one of those walking delegates in New Zealand now, in the person of Air. Ben Tillett, and I am sure lie will do quite enough harm by stirring up tlio working man against liis employer, with liis socialistic ideas, without the assistance of Air. Hardie. I don’t know that we can keep him right out of the Dominion, as suggested by the Parnell Council, .but w© can give him the cold shoulder, which is only what he deserves after his seditious and traitorous conduct in India.—l am etc., A BRITISHER. Gisborne October 8.
