UCE-INFECTED SHEEP. DEPUTATION TO CHIEF STOCK INSPECTOR. Yesterday morning a deputation consisting of Messrs J. AY. Bright, A. F. Kennedy, A. S Wadmuuui and J. .15 Kells waited on the local Inspector at Stock (.Mr AYaltor Miller) regarding tho inspection of stock at tlio saloyards Mr Bright urged that tho inspection should not tako place until after general dipping had started He thought a little leniency should bo shown during the dipping season. Great harm was done at the sales by tho inspectors, nnd lie asked that if the present system was continued that the inspection be completed before the commencement of the sale. Mr. Miller said the Department always endeavored to finish iho inspection before tho side started. He could not suspend the operations of the Act ns regarded saloyards. Farmers had no right to have infected sheep at any time of the year. Air AYnehmnnn said that when one louse was found on a sheep it should not be held to be infected. Air. Aliller said that previous exneriences taught that when the Act was deviated from they got into a fog. The deputation then withdrew'.
