GISBORNE CLUB. A match in tho second round of tho Handicap Pairs was played -esterday afternoon when T. Clarkson and T. A. Crawford (skip) scr., defeated R. Johnstone and R. Crawford (skip), 8 point's, by 23 points to 20. Tho match was very evenly contested, tho tscores being level at tho 19th head. T. A. Crawford made somo fine drawing shots, but his sou made a- number ol successful drives anil provided a keen tussle. A meeting of tho Committee of the Gisborne Club was held yesterday, Afr P. Pottie, president, being in tlio chair. It- was decided to call entries for a colt’s match, open to all members joining the club up to the time of closing of entries who have not previously been members of clubs. Tho trophy to bo competed lor is a pair of howls presented by Air AV. Pottie. It was also decided to call for entries for Junior Pairs, tho qualification to ho left to the hamlicappers. The trophies are two pairs of howls presented by Air T. Adair. For the Second Handicap Fours four pairs of bowls presented by Messrs E. Pottie, Sheridan, Lucas, and Adair were set aside as trophies. In regard to shield matches it was decided that Air Hennessey look into the matter of howlers residences, and hand in a report tit -an early date, so that boundaries may he defined.
