INDIANS IN THE TRANSVAAL
THE LAW TO BE AMENDED.
United Press Association—Copyright (Received Jan. 28, 0.13 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 27. The Daily Telegraph’s Johannesburg’s correspondent states that the Government, realising tlie seriousness of the situation, has decided to completely reconsider their whole attitude towards Asiatic 'immigration, and appoint a Supreme Court Judge to examine into the objections to registration. The Act is dense, and the system of identification can be made effective without offending. Tins is presumably on the lines successfully followed by Lord Alilner in 1903. The law is to be amended next session, and the Act is meanwhile in abeyance. The Government is assured. of tlie Opposition’s strong support m carrying out their courageous decision.
