An informal poll of ratepayers was taken to-day .on the question of wheher tho weekly half-holiday should be observed on Thursday or Saturday. The poll resulted m 323 votes being cast for the former, and 457 for the hitter. At a special meeting of tiie Borough Council, hold in tho evening, it was, decided to recommend the Minister for Labor to fix Saturday as tho half-holiday for tho combined districts of Wanganui. Granville, and Eastbrook.
