WELLINGTON, January 5. As the Premier, who returned from Westport this afternoon, has to attend a. banquet in Auckland on Friday, in lienor of Mr Alfred Kidd, M.H.R., tho Liberal and Labor Federations welcome to ithe Hon. W r . Hall-Joues will probably not bo held until Sir Joseph comes back from the North next week. MV Hall-Joues cannot reach 'Wellington Until Saturday morning. A large number of no-license workers who are in tho Wellington city electorate, met last night in tho Baptist Church Schoolroom, Vivian Sti'eot, at tho invitation of the Executive of the Now Zealand Alliance. The Rev. J. Dawson presided, and tho Secretary (Rev. F. AA 7 . Isitt), submitted a number of proposals, affecting the coming campaign, which had been considered in some thirty southron electorates. A number of these wore earnestly discussed by last night’s meeting, and in the majority of instances, they met with approval. Tho general feeling of the No-license Party is reported to be decidedly hopeful, and the campaign is to bo conducted with a thoroughness and vigor that should go far to ensure tho results desired. The Rev. F. AA 7 . Isitt will go to Auckland in a fow days to meet the workers in the several electorates comprised between the Bay of Islands in the North, the Bay of Plenty in the East, and Taumarunui in the interior, in the interests of tho No-liccnso movement.
