BOWLING.
A meeting of tho committee of tho Gisborne Bowling Club was held yesterday. Messrs Hookey and Ambridge were appointed to wait on Mr W.-J. Hennessy, who had tendered his resignation as handicapper, with a view to getting him to reconsider his decison, but Mr. Hennessy stated that ho wished to be relieved of bis duties. Tho Champion Cup Singles conditions were approved, and it was decided to call for entries immediately. The following members were appointed to select teams for the shield matches:—Kaiti,' Messrs Ponsford "and W .Pettio; Whataupoko, Messrs Honnessy and F. A. Martin; City, Messrs F. Harris and J. Coieman; West End, Messrs Robertson and T. A. Crawford Messrs Adair and Ambridgo were appointed to prepare tho handicaps for tho Junior Pairs, and Secfmd Handicap Fours, which will be ready for Thursday’s play if necessary. Tho committee request that members wishing to go to tho Napier tournament will put their names on the list so that teams can be picked.
