PERSONAL.
An interesting social function took place at a iirivate tennis court on Kaiti yesterday afternoon, when. Mrs. W. Sandlaut, who is leaving Gisborne, was the recipient of a suitablyinscribed tennis racquet from a number of friends. Mr. Nesbitt, of Messrs; Common, iShelton, and Co., Ltd., made the presentation, and in a few words referred to the regret that was felt at Mrs. Sandlant’s approaching departure. Mrs. Sandlant thanked those present for their gift and good wishes, and an adjournment was made for afternoon tea and refreshments.
