THE TOWNLKY CUP. Yesterday afternoon the third race for the Townley Cup. was run over the Makauri course. A large crowd of spectators were present to see the finish, which was a good one. The race resulted as follows: —G. Aston, doiniu lOseCj 1; A. Anderson, 35min IQ 1-5
see, 2; AA’. AVilkinson, 35mm 10 J-«j sec, 3. T. A. Edwards (smm start) caiue in first, but was disannulled during tho pleasure of tho club lor accepting pace. J. Itnngip.ai was disqualified" for six months lor pacing. 11. Davis rode tho fastest tunc (JO min)—a record for the course. _ Iho trophy, a very handsome quo, is at present on view in the window ot Mr. H. Anderson’s premises. Aston and AVilkinson now have equal points for the Cup, and will ride a further race. ■ v • "
