FIRE AT ASHBURTON.
COACH FACTORY DESTROYED
Press Association. ASHBURTON, March 29. The. Bon Accord carriage .and general smith 'works were .totally destroyed by -fire at 3 o’co.!ck this morning. The business was leased and worked by John iStnibling, and owned by Charles Reid. An inefficient waiter supply prevented the fire .brigade from coping with the flames until ithe main building, was •gutted, but their efforts saved two'' 1 unattached workshops: ■ The stock-in-trade, including gi<rs and a quantity of tools, iis covered by a policy of £3OO in the Royall office, buit Stripling estimates his loss over and above this at .nearly £2OO. C. Reid had tho building insured for £IOO and tools for £IOO, both in the State office.
