WAIROA NOTES.
Press Association. WAIROA, April 11. At tlie Harbor Board meeting last night a. proposal to reduce wharfage rates by 50 per cent., was'defeated. A motion was carried, engaging Mr. Leslie Reynolds to report on a scheme for improving the river entrance. John Pedrick, alias “Happy Jack,” died at tlie hosnit-al last niglit, tho result of some injuries sustained at Mangapoiko some months ago, a log rolling against his thigh.
