DESPERATE FIGHTING BETWEEN MOORS AND FRENCH. HEAVY CASUALTIES. United Press Association—Copyright. (Received April 19, 4.18 p.m.) MOROCCO, April 18. Hoping to destroy tho Fineng section of the Oran railway, 3000 Moorish horsemen and 2000 foot soldiers organised by preachers mado a night attack on Colonel Pierron’s camp at J’alzaza defile, westward of Bonziroz railway station. Tho foreign legion with Zouaves sharpshooters had a desperate fight for six hours, finally- repelling the enemy. They pursued the Moors for nine miles. One hundred and twenty-five dead Moors were found in the camp, and many beyond. There were hundreds of wounded. 1 * . Colonel Piorron lost -twenty-eight killed, including one officer. He had ono hundred and two wounded; including 64 European non-commission-ed officers and men.
