TUKANGANUI GREEN

The third round of the handicap singles competition was continued yesterday, when M. G. Nasmith, juu., defeated G. Matthewson by 10 points. Matthew son, receiving a" handicap of 4 points led by 12 to 0 on tho fifth head, but from this onwards, Nasmith, putting his opponent on to short heads, scored consistently, putting up 25 to M'atthewson’s 3, and won by 25 to 15. Only one more game in this round remains to be played—P. Hallam and W. J. P. Gaudin. A game in the Bennett Cup and gold medal championship was played GISBORNE CLUB. At tho Gisborno Club’s green yesterday another match in tho shield contest was decided, when City .and Ivaiti met, with the following result: City—Wilson, E. Lewis, J. H. Martin and J. Coleman (skip) 14;.Kaiti —W. Pettio, F. Pettio, Amb rid go; and Witty (skip) 10. A handicap fours game resulted:. Burton, Miller, Williams and F. Martin (skip) 22 ■ Mackrell, Lewis, Euro, and T. A. Crawford (skip) 20. / between J. J. Martin and M. Neill, and was won easily by the former by 24 to 11. Martin led throughout, being 7 to 1 on the fourth head, 13 to 3 on tho 9th, 'and 20 to 8 on the 15th, winning finally by 13 points.
