THE GOVERNMENT CANDIDATE. organising secretary at WORK. - Press Association. •DUNEDIN, May 9. It- is stated that the Lawrence branch of the Liberal and Labor Federation lias selected Mr. A. A\ . Tjdall, teacher ait Bluespur. as Ministerial candidate for the Taupeka seat. ■Mr Horace Bastings, who was a Goldfields’ member in the eighties, was asked to stand but declined nomination. _ T * 1 The organising secretary of the Libera] and Labor Federation has anived ,at Alexandra with the view of bringing about an agreementebetween the various aspirants. It is stated that, -providing the Liberal nominee is not an outsider, he will be supported and other candidates will be induced to withdraw in favor of the one chosen.
