Judge Palmer arrived from South yesterday morning to preside over tho sittings of the Native Land Court.

Captain Clirisp returned from Aucklanl by the Mokoia yesterday afternoon.

Mr. C. N. Baeyertz..editor and proprietor of-the “Triad” (Dunedin), is m Gisborne on business connected with that magazine. Dr. Morrison is at present in town, having returned for a short. period prior to taking a trip to England. . The Hon. Mr. Carroll, though present at yesterday’s railway function, was obviously in ill-health, and was unable to take any part in tho ceremonies. It is his intention to have a fortnight’s rest at home in order to recuperate before the approaching session demands liis presence in Wellington.
