FOOTBALL.
The following are the teams in the thirds match between tho Kaiti-City and Takitimu Clubs to-morrow: —-Talc itimu : Alorell (2), Goldsmith, Heke, Robinson, Stevens, Pilcher, Tansley, Gramp. Crajll, Breingan, Ipu Kara, Edwards, Quinn, Lloyd, Snowden, and Higgins. Kaiti-City: G. Pollock, R. AA’yllie, Huston (capt), Fitzgerald, Bright, Lang, C. Pollock, Bristow, Alorritt, Bryant, Butterworth,O’Nell, Gardner, Fromm, and Craig; emergencies, P. AA'yllie, Harding, and O’Aleara.
The teams in the junior match tomorrow between Takitimu and KaitiCity will be:—Takitimu : Campbell (3), Dunlop, Snowden, Andrew, Roderick, AlcConnell, Clarke, Hughes, Ivenikara, O’Donnell, Callaghan,AA r alker, Alurpliy, Koro, Pilcher, and Gibson. Kaiti-City: E. Luttrell, ’ Grenfell, B. Bright, Witty, O’Neil, Coleman, A. Luttrell, AlcGregor, Alcltae, Aloore, Fraser, Henley, Paterson, Jeffries, Hickey; emergencies, Alole-s and Sceats.
The following referees were appointed at the weekly meeting of the Referees Association to control the games to-morrow: Senior, Air. W. Howard ; junior, Air. Walker; thirds, Air. 0. R. Olson.
THE BRITISH TEAM. " (Presß Association.) DUNEDIN, Alay 28. The British football team arrived in Dunedin to-night, and were enthusiastically welcomed by. largo crowds on the platform and outside tho station and also on the streets. The team was mot at Christchurch by Air. Geo. . Thomson, as representing the New Zealand Football Union, and at Palmerston South by Aiessrs J. Hutchinson, president of the Otago Rugby Football Union, P. Priest, vicepresident, and J. Duncan, of tne committee. The visitors wero met at Dunedin station by drags, and were driven to their hotels amid cheers. This welcome was purely informal, and an official welcome takes place to-morrow. . ... At present tho weather indications arc favorablo for Saturday’s match. AVELLINGTON, Alay .28. At a meeting of the Management Committee of. the New. Zealand Hu gby Union to-niglit, the appointment of Dr. Crawford, of Invercargill, as referee in the British-Otago match was agreed to. A suggestion from Otago Union that a practice between the New Zealand representatives and Otago be played oil June. 3rd was not acceded to, the committee considering that the element of risk to the players was too great.
