OBSCENE LANGUAGE
Donald Bain, a wharf fjuborer, was charged with having used obscene language.in a public place and within tho hearing of passers-by. The information was laid 'by Captain Hawke, of the Tuatea, who explained that the wharf laborers had been somewhat bitter against him owing to something which had taken place during the recent sittings of the Arbitration Court. He asked for a lenient sentence. Accused was fined 10s with 7s costs. A MAINTENANCE CASE.
Thomas Kerr, who was arrested on warrant, was charged with failing to provide for the support of his illegitimate child.
Tin's ease was adjourned until the return of Mr. 4V. A. Barton, S.M., from the Coast. Bail was allowed, self in £25, and one surety lor a similar amount.
