ANNUAL GENERAL ’MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Cosmopolitan Club was held iu the new club-house last evening. There was a large attendance of enthusiastic members, and the chair was occupied by Mr. C. H. Ambridge. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, ;Mr. C. H. Ambridge; VicePresident, Mr. AY. Webb; secretary and treasurer, Air. R. Seymour; trustees, Messrs J. A. Lucas, T. J. Adair ,and D. J. Barry; committee (guarantors), Messrs T. Seymour, J. F. Pcttie, J. Thomson, J. Sheridan, A. Sawyer, and H. Martin ; (general); J. B. Leydon, It. Johnston, C. Morse, mil ,T. (McConnell ; entertainment committee, Messrs Hookey, J. Adair,, D. R. DeCosta, C. Humphries, FPettic, G. Swallow. A. G. Beere, and A. Parnell; library committee, Messrs J. A. Ea.ton, R. M. Birrell, H. Humphries, W. Pettie, P. Scliwabe, Hogg, and H. J. Andrews. ‘Members were unanimous in their praise of tlie good work doneTy the various committees in the past, and expressed a hope ' that they would long continue to direct the management of tlie Club. . (Messrs Vita Bros, were elected honorary musicians to the. Club. In view of the prospective visit of the British football team, the Chairman said the committee intended to invite the visitors to accept the hospitality of the Club, and if tlie Rugby Union saw fit to provide an entertainment for them in the , evening, lie thought the committee could he prevailed upon to offer the use of tlieir social hall .for the purpose. A hearty vote of thanks To the chair brought the proceedings to a close.
