TURANGANUI CLUB SINGLES

NASMITH JUN. WINS THE FINAL Hie final>round of tlie Handicap Singles competition in connection with the'Turniigaimi Club was played oil Saturday afternoon. Tlie contestants were M. G. Nasmith jnnr. and R. Sheet, and tlie ■ former, conceding his opponent a handicap of 4. won rather easily bv eight points. Honors were even for the first lew heads, and on the loth head Sheet led by 7 to 3. Nasmith scored on the next [even heads, anil on the 12th head ,lcd «by 16 to 7. Sheet now took a hand, and scored on the four following heads, the score on ‘the 17th head being Nasmith 18, Sheet 15. On the next four heads Nasmith added six points to his total and Sheet cue, the game thus ending in favor of the former hy 21 to 16. The green was in splendid order, playing fast, and drawing well on either baud.
