WOMEN'S FRANCHISE.
COMMENTS ON THE PROCESSION A CONVINCING DEMAND. United Press Association (Received June 15, 9.47 p.m.) LONDON, June 15. The ‘Times” says that the woman suffrage procession was a spectacle of beauty unparalleled among political processions. The speeches were distinguished by dignity and reserve, showing a certain number of earnest harcl-working women, some of considerable distinction. The demeanor of tho crowds ofc spectators, though respectful and good-humored, evidenced little real support for the movement, and was still less enthusiastic. The “Daily News” hopes that the procession will convince Mr. Asquith that there is an effective demand among ivomen for the franchise. The Liberals ought to grant the reform without which democracy is incomplete.
