CONTINUATION OF INQUEST. DRIVER MILBURN’S EVIDENCE. United Press Association, Copyright (Received June 18, 11.32 p.m.) MELBOURNE, June 18. A t the Braybrook' inquest, Milburn,' who -repeatedly broke down, deposed that ho tested the brakes when he took charge of the engines, and they were then in perfect order. Approaching the . distant signal at Sunshine at a speed of 50 miles, he applied the brakes. They appeared to grip p’roporly, and reduced the speed to 40 miles, but then the train jumped forward again. -He made an emergency application of the brakes, but. they failed to act properly. . Milburn denied using after the acci den+ the words, “There is no one to blame but myself.”
