A GREAT. FIGHT.
BURNS DEFEATS SQUIRES, AN EIGHT-ROUND ENCOUNTER. SOME TERRIFIC HITTING. [Special to “Times.”] AUCKLAND, June 22. Sydney -files say that the fight between Tommy Burns and Bill Squires was a fine struggle, and lasted for half an hour. Burns knocked out Squires m the eighth round. . . In the fifth round there were terrific exchanges on the head and body, and the round was decidedly in Squire’s favor, Burns being groggy -at the call of time. In the sixth round Burns showed superior generalship, and forced the fighting, both being heavily punished. The seventh round saw Squires most of -the tiniG on the ropes, and a blow on the body in tlio eighth round finished Squires. -
