A SHIPPING SUBSIDY.
ENCOURAGEMENT OF TRADE. United Press Association, Copyright (Received June 24, 12.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Juno 23. The Government lias decided to pay towards the Philp Singapore service a subsidy of £2OOO per year so long as Victoria pays- a similar subsidy to the Currie line. If the BimisPhilp Co. carry out their threat to shift- their headquarters to Victoria or dock their vessels at Melbourne the subsidy will cease.
