AUCTIONEERS’ LICENSES.
MEETING AT WANGANUI. RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED. [Press Association.] . WANGANUI, June 24. A meeting of auctioneers held today was attended by representatives of all the firms doing business in the district, and considered various matters affecting auctioneers. It was resolved that ini the. opinion of the meeting no license' should be issued for less than- twelve montlis, tile period to be from the date of issue; also that in the case of firms taking out a license for employees, or -a. member of the firm, the license should be issued to the firms, and not to the individual; (and that licensees be empowered to appoint a member of the firm or 'an employee to sell, provided the license is made use of by one individual only in the one day, and that in such cases no .transfer fee be necessary. It was also resolved that in the event of a universal half-holiday being adopted in any district, the Act be amended to allow an auctioneer to pell up to 10 p.m. on ,the preceding evening; also that any land agent, Dot an auctioneer, should pay a license fee.
