The •.Treasurer- stated' that in bis opinion the time had arrived when tlio Association should- make a further forward movement. By laying down a second turf ivicket on Victoria Domain they would have £4 4s coming in weekly in ground fees, which would onnblo them to employ a. capable groundsill in, who could also act as conch. Tho Association would require about £-19 to lay down a. second turf wicekt, and he felt certain there would bo no difficulty il' the cricketers wont to work in earnest in raising the necessary funds. The Chairman said that it was most satisfactory, considering the heavyexpenditure of tlie past season, to lin’d that the Association- had a substantial credit balance. Jle was in accord with tho objects of the meeting, and felt sure‘that tlie cricketers of tlio district would combine to attain the ends desired. Ho thought that a more favorable loiso might bo arranged with the Rugby Union, considering the heavy expenditure the Association was put to each season in improving and maintaining ibho ground. Mr. Gibson was certain that every cricketer must foel highly pleased at the satisfactory position disclosed by the treasurer. At the last meeting of the Management Committcothe financial statement, showed a deficit-of some £ls. ■ It spoke volumes lor the capability and enthusiasm of iM-r. Maude that .in so short a time, almost entirely by bis own unaided efforts, such a large deficit had been converted into such a substantial credit balance. The speaker thought they should lend their energies to improving Victoria Domain, and make an effort to lay down u second turf wicket. He feltcertain flint the llugby Union would moot them if a new lease were submitted. ille moved: “That a subcommittee consisting of Messrs AV. L. Clayton. R. G. Hallamore, and the mover bo appointed to draft a new lease with the Rugby Union, to be submitted to a- later meeting of the Association.”

This was seconded by-Mr. .Hallamore, and carried. The question of ,tlic best means of raining funds was considered at length, and it was eventually carried that Messrs AV. F. Cedertvail, AV. L. Clayton, W. Gibson, and It. G. Hallamore, with the treasurer and secretary, ex-officio, be appointed a sub-committee-to draft a circular to prominent -gentlemen in outlying districts inviting thorn to assist.
