SHEARERS’ ACCOMMODATION.
THE NEW BILL
(Special to . “Times.”)
WELLINGTON, July 12. The main difference between the Shearers’ Accommodation Bill introduced oil Friday and the Act of 1898 lies in the comprehensive schedule defining what is “proper and sufficientaccommodation. Some ol these definitions will come as a little surprise, especially to the small sheepfarmers. It is interesting to note that a pamphlet issued last year by the Labor Department states that during the year 1906-7, 730 shearing sheds were inspected, and in 44 cases improvements were ordered to ho made. Similar improvements were ordered in the previous years, and, says the report, the accommodation is now on the whole satisfactory.
