INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS. The Independent Order of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, held its usual meeting last night. The principal business of the meeting was the installation of officers. The installing officer was P.G. Bro. I*. Sdnvabe, and the conducting officers P.G. Bro. Cox and P.G. Bro. AV. (Stewart. Tlie officers were installed as follows:—GAL, Bro. L. A. Sharlaiid; N.G., -Bro. J. McConnell ; A r .G., Bro. J. B. Sim; Elective Secretary, Bro. Chisholm; R.S. to N.G;, P.G. Bro AA’. Cox; L.S. to N.G., Bro. Poole; R.S. to ALG., Bro. Bannister; L.S. to V.G., Bro. Connor; AVarden, P.G. Bro. P. Schwnbe: Guardian, Bro. B. Higgins; Lecture Master, GAL Bro. L. A. Sharlaiid (unanimously).
Permanent Secretary Bro. C. H. Ambridge extended a hearty welcome to the newly-installed officers, and wished them a successful and happy term of office, especially N.G. Bro. Joint McConnell, who had held a,similar position in the Juvenile Lodge. GAL Bro. L. A. Sharlaiid thanked the members -and officers wh 0 had ably assisted him during his term of office, and the other officers also briefly returned thanks.
Six new members wero proposed. It was decided to meet tlie Foresters in a game of cards oil a date to be decided later. Tlie -Fourth Degree was conferred on those entitled to receive it.
