HUNTING.
(By “Thistle-whipper.”) Hounds met at tlie kennels on Saturday,, and a very large field rolled up. i'liero must have been more than 40 following. Unfortunately it was one of the worst -days we have had this season. The first hare we found wont into Kempt home’s country, and hounds were at once whipped off. Walsh then drew all round the Willows flats carefully, but we could not get a hare afoot/ We then tried on the hills on the west side of the railway, and rat last found a hare, which ran up the railway line and over the hill above the tunnel, but we could make nothing of it as sheep had crossed the place whore the hare had gone. We then trotted back and enjoyed a very sumptuous tea at the Willows. Getting to horse again, we drew across to the hills at the back of Jackson’s, where we bad soon too many hares on foot. Hounds ran for some time on the hills, giving ns everv now and then a little fencing on the flat. When , galloping on the flat Mr. George Reynolds’ old hunter came down over a. wire fence, and landed his rider in a pool of water. Among those who were out were Mesdames Jackson. Ensor ,(2), Humphries, Sherratt, Misses Sherratt (3),Johnson, Worthington, Rutledge, Scott, Messrs (Sherratt (5), Ensor (H), .Humphries, Jackson, Scott, Gaddum, Pilmer, Murphy, Bennett, Black, Rutledge, Purdie, Monckton, Reynolds, and Drummond.
