LABORERS ON STRIKE

The secretary of the Inangahua Miners’ Union has received a wire from the Bealey, where about 20 men are employed on the Otira tunnel, stating that a strike was on there, and warning miners that things were unbearable, and requesting assistance. CHRISTCHURCH, July 21. With reference to the labor trouble at the Otira tunnel works, the Press” Otira correspondent telegraphs that th„ men at Bealey rcflisd to work-under a man named Leeling. They telephoned for Mr. Dinme to come over, and he settled the matter by placing someone else in charge. No serious, trouble is anticipated. One shift at the Otira end was discharged • yesterday through somo disagreement with tho shift bosses.”
