YOUNG GIRL CUT TO PIECES. FALLS OFF TRAIN IN A FAINT. [Press Association.] ASHBURTON, July 21. A shocking accident occurred oil the midday express from Christchurch to-day, by which a passenger, a young woman, name tinknoavii, aged about 22, was cut to pieces. It seems she was suffering from illness, and avont out 011 to the carriage platform, from which she was seen to fall,. apparently in a faint. Several carriages passed over her, and oil the train being stopped life was found to be extinct, and the body was fearfully mangled. -A railway ticket found where she foil was for Orari. The body lias been taken to Timaru. The girl was dark, and a little over sft in height.
