CHRISTCHURCH, July 21. The Mayor and l Town Olorlc liavo received cards of invitation' from the Mayor of Auckland to an “At Home” on August 11th, on the occasion of the visit of the American fleet. So fir this is tbe only official invitation received in Christchurch for the fleet visit.

The flag for transmission from Christchurch, as a welcome to the American fleet has been completed', and. will be forwarded' in due course. It bears the words, “Welcome from Christchurch.”
