CHRISTCHURCH, August 20. At a meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Political Labor League last night, it was resolved to announce Air. Jas. Thorn as a Socialist candidate for Christchurch South. A resolution was passed asking Air. D. G. Sullivan to stand for Avon in ’he. same interests. The secretary was instructed to make inquiries as to the cost of maintaining a labor newspaper during the election period, and to report at the next meeting.
