CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Charitable Aid Board was held last evening, there being present: The Mayor (Mr. W. D. L.vsnar), Messrs Sawyer, Pettie, Whinray, Somervell, and Dr. Williams.
An Imperial pensioner applied for admission to the Old Mens Home. The man had previously been in the Home, but would not obey orders. He was re-admitted on condition lie obeyed orders in future and paid his pension to the Home, being allowed enough money for tobacco. A woman was granted assistance to the amount of 10s per week towards the support of herself and two children.
The following tenders were received for additions to the Old Men’s Home: W. Webb and Sons £221 12s 6d. Clayton Bros. £215, Aicken and Wilson £215, Parr and Lister £215, M. Haisnian £229, J. East £236, Mackrell and Colley £237 10s, Black Bros. £227, A t F. Laurie £248, and Evans Nield and Co. £212. Messrs Evans, Nielli and Co.’s tender was accepted.
