The “Gray” combination will make their appearance in the Victoria Billiard Saloon to-morrow and Monday evenings The party comprises Harry Gray, champion of Queensland; his son George, aged 1G years, the world’s champion hoy "player; and their manager, All-. Fred Farrell. Since landing at the Bluff the Grays have appeared with much success at the principal cities and towns on route. With father and son playing splendidly at the. Hastings Club young Gray compiled a break or 208, and at Fitzpatrick’s rooms George made a score of 137 in a game with Jim Holmes, ‘conceding LSO start in 500, and winning by 115 points. At the Working Men’s Club, Napier, the Grays gave an excellent display in games with local amateurs, whom they easily defeated. In a trick, fancy, and masse shot entertainment, the Grays won popular favor, the hoy’s prowess at the masse stroke being simply wonderfill. Master Gray during his career has made runs of 513, 495, 453, and 411, his hazard striking being a revelation. Harry Gray is also a splendid exponent of sound, clean, all-round billiards, and as a fancy shot it is claimed he has no superior south of the line. Exhibition games with local amateurs, and fancy, masse, and trick shot displays will comprise the-.hill on Saturday and'Monday evenings.
